Functional Ware

Making functional objects creates a balance and breath from the heavy content of my sculptural works. Utilitarian forms can carve space for slowing down to nurture our body, mind, and soul. Forms can turn mundane into moments of rituals that inspire a different way of experiencing life. As exploring clay is a way of life, work, and practice of being in the dance of control and letting go of control. The flow that can lead to reaching a form not one time but multiple times with a new lesson as a new rotation on the wheel takes full breath. The imagery in these forms reflects and translates my interactions and meditations with nature and the mark-making in the world around me.
